How are forum passwords encrypted?

Post by C on Tue Apr 19, 2011 11:20 am

I seem to notice that from the perspective of a database administrator (in MySQL) you view the encrypted versions of the passwords, but the users automatically get their passwords emailed to them. How does this work exactly?

I would have to email the host for that answer, but essentially, the password change you request should be whatever is emailed to you, so the password is exactly how it is typed in the email.

That being said, I would be glad to change your password to whatever you want me to change it to. Just PM me.
